A Selection of Features:

Some features may differ between platforms and change as new versions become available.

Strong tracking features:  The Nike+ Running app tracks distance, pace, time and calories burned with GPS.

Audio Feedback:  The app gives periodic feedback during your run.  Reports distance, time, and average or current pace.

Charting progress:  Keep pace with your progress by checking your past runs on your phone and/or uploading and saving runs on the website.

Mapping feature and Social Media:  The route of each run is mapped out through the use of GPS and can be shared via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.  Your runs will also be added to your Facebook fitness feature for all to see, if you so desire.

Get personal satisfaction from outperforming yourself:  Each time you achieve a new personal best you get feedback in the form of badges attached to each run.  Banners are awarded for a variety of achievements including longest run, farthest run, fastest 1 mile, 1 kilometer, and 5 kilometer.

Get cheered on: Rally your cheering section. Post the start of your run to Facebook or Path and hear real-time cheers for each like or comment you receive. Or maybe you just want to listen to music.

No accidents: Use the app’s screen lock feature to keep track on the easy to see interface without accidentally changing the settings or turning off the run.

Personal experience/Recommendations:

I’ve used this app for over a month now and truly enjoy it. I personally enjoy competing against myself and this app feeds that passion. The running screen is clear, uncluttered, and comprehensive. Couple that with the cost and this is a no-brainer. Reviewed: 5 December, 2013
